About the Fjärran Journal
Fjärran is a small AI travel engine built for one family and their friends: you describe what you long for — warm in November, easy with kids, under a set budget — and it answers with concrete destinations and day-by-day plans. This journal is where we publish what the engine and its data pipelines teach us about travelling well.
Editorial policy
Every guide here is grounded in data we can point to: monthly climate normals from real weather archives, and budget figures presented as ranges — never false precision. Where a number is an estimate, we say so. Prices, opening hours and timetables drift, so we write the way we travel: check before you go. Articles are drafted with the help of the same engine that powers Fjärran, then read, corrected and signed off by a human before anything is published.
Privacy
This journal is served as plain pages: no cookies, no trackers, and no third-party scripts load on their own. Some articles include Instagram posts from travel creators we follow. Those embeds are off by default: the page shows a local preview card, and nothing is requested from Instagram until you explicitly click “Load post”. If you do click, the post loads through Instagram's official embed mechanism and data — including your IP address — is sent to Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. An optional “Always load Instagram content” setting is stored only in your own browser.
We only ever embed public posts, we name and credit every creator in the article text, and we never copy or re-host their images. If you are a creator and want a post removed from an article, email us and we will remove it immediately.
